About our club

A potted history

Our club has existed in various forms since 1984 when we began playing at Merchant Taylors’ School in Northwood on a drop-in basis. For some of us it involved a 30 minute car journey to enjoy our sporting exercise, where use of the swimming pool afterwards was a bonus! We moved to Watford Leisure Centre (Central) when it first opened in 2008. The location is more convenient for most of our members and the sports hall is custom built for racquet sports.

Some of the original members continue to play to this day, demonstrating the friendliness and camaraderie of our membership. 30 years since we began, the longevity of our club is a testament to the many longstanding members and the companionship amongst us all.
